چکیده

In this paper, we investigate a mobile relaying system assisted by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with finite size of the buffer. Under buffer limit and delay constraints at UAV relay, consider dual-hop mixed free-space optical/radio frequency (FSO/RF) (i.e., source-to-relay relay-to-destination links employ FSO RF links, respectively). Taking imbalance in transmission rate between into consideration, address trajectory design relay node to obtain maximum data throughput ground user terminal. Specifically, classify two schemes according requirements, i.e., i) delay-limited ii) delay-tolerant transmission. Accordingly, propose iterative algorithm effectively locally optimal solution our optimization problems further present complexity analysis algorithm. Through algorithm, resulting trajectories over atmospheric condition, size, requirement. addition, show optimum throughput-delay tradeoff for given system. The numerical results validate that proposed buffer-aided delay-considered scheme obtains 223.33% gain compared conventional static scheme.

Minimum Throughput Maximization in UAV-Aided Wireless Powered Communication Networks

This paper investigates unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-aided wireless powered communication network (WPCN) systems where a mobile access point (AP) at the UAV serves multiple energyconstrained ground terminals (GTs). Specifically, the UAVs first charge the GTs by transmitting the wireless energy transfer (WET) signals in the downlink. Then, by utilizing the harvested wireless energy from the UAV...

UAV positioning for throughput maximization

The throughput of a communication system depends on the offered traffic load and the available capacity to support that load. When an unmanned aerial verhicle (UAV) is responsible for providing the communication service to users within its transmission range, the position of the UAV determines how much capacity each user gets. The closer the UAV to a user, the greater the capacity that the user...

Buffer-Aided Relaying in Cooperative Networks

Traditional half-duplex relaying schemes partition the packet transmission slot into two phases, where the SourceRelay link transmission is in the first phase, and the RelayDestination link transmission occurs in the second phase. As a result, the relay that received the source signal is the same as the one that is subsequently forwarding the signal towards the destination. However, these relay...

Buffer-Aided Relaying with Adaptive Link Selection - Fixed and Mixed Rate Transmission

We consider a simple network consisting of a source, a half-duplex decode-and-forward relay with a buffer, and a destination. We assume that the direct source-destination link is not available and all links undergo fading. We propose two new buffer-aided relaying schemes with different requirements regarding the availability of channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT). In the first s...

Link Selection for Secure Cooperative Networks with Buffer-Aided Relaying

This paper investigates the secure communication in a two-hop cooperative wireless network, where a bufferaided relay is utilized to forward data from the source to destination, and a passive eavesdropper attempts to intercept data transmission from both the source and relay. Depending on the availability of instantaneous channel state information of the source, two cases of transmission mechan...
